Aubergine (flower!)

Made a brief visit to the market and Aldi, as you sometimes have to do. Was intending to head to the allotment in a 'window' that both weather apps were claiming would be rain-free - but although the sun was out when I started to get ready, by the time I'd got my boots on it was pissing down again (it did that a lot during the night). Pah. Shall try again tomorrow, thoroughly waterproofed.

I only sowed an aubergine seed out of interest to see if it would germinate - it's formed quite a handsome plant, with numerous flowers. None of them has set fruit, but this is Leith, folks!
