Five Guys
... or should it be Four Guys and Batman?
With the last of the work done on the first round of this tender yesterday, I felt quite giddy with light-headedness yesterday evening. I might have been a bit manic even. It's a huge relief. We're in the game and couldn't have put in a better performance. We'll know by the end of next month whether we're through to the next round and then the hard work will really start.
I somehow found the energy to get out to do the Roundhay Parkrun this morning. Half decent run in 23.37, getting faster as I find my running legs again after all the cycling of the summer. I've a year-end goal of getting my age-grade value up to 75%, something I've not achieved since my first Parkrun in 2010 when I was in more serious training. Just putting that out there to keep myself honest. I was at 73.04% today. I might need to choose a flatter course.
It was then a lovely afternoon at Ben Rhydding watching the lads play some really decent cricket, knocking up 298, including a first fifty of the season for Forrest. I think I was actually more disappointed than he was when he holed out on the boundary with a century looking on the cards. He's been in great nick since he returned to opening the batting. There's now a serious chance of promotion at stake. He also picked up 3 wickets, with Roam getting 2 as well, including a very fine caught and bowled, snaffled at the third attempt. It stung. We rolled Studeley Royal over for just 71. It felt like the first chance I've had to properly relax in weeks and weeks.
