A Proper Camera Shop

West Yorkshire Cameras are situated in the Grand Arcade in Leeds and this stall was attracting a huge amount of attention. It was a veritable Aladdin's Cave for camera nerds - of which I'm not one, sad to say. The catch was that all the items for sale here were guaranteed broken. I'm sure they shifted a load for charity nonetheless.

I couldn't help but think of all the photographs framed and taken through this vast array of lenses and bodies. I wonder where they all are now. I wonder how many are ever likely to be seen again. But then I suppose you could say the same about today's digital images - which is why blipping works so well as a curatorial and archiving discipline. I need to do better!
