Shrewsbury

On our way back from the Gliding Club this afternoon we stopped off in Shrewsbury in the hope of catching a glimpse of anything to do with the Folk Festival taking place this weekend.   Sadly we arrived at St Mary's Church just after the last Troupes of Morris Dancers had finished.  Two of the 'Shropshire Bedlams' were happy to pose for  a Blip though before heading off to perform somewhere else in the town. In the Church there was a fabulous Caligraphy Exhibition and in my collage there's a picture of the church's magnificent stained glass window.

Wandering back up the town to the P&R bus we sat a while to listen to a fabulous violinist from Poland enchanting us with his amazing talent, and he gathered quite a crowd.

Mr HB has noticed there is a Steam Rally taking place tomorrow and Monday, so I think we might be paying Shrewsbury another visit tomorrow!

On Radio 2 this evening I was listening to Liza Tarbuck.  She read out that one of her listeners had overhead a waitress in a cafe telling a customer  that the 'placenta cake' was very good!!  I think our dear Admirer would have liked that too.
