Reaching For Light
A walk in the mountains today, through dense pine, in parts, where light filtering between trees illuminated little pockets of interest against dark trunks and undergrowth.
I have to stop myself sometimes, from walking by these seemingly insignificant details. But often here is where gems can be found. I recall, photography is all about light and to see light, we need darks and contrast.
I loved these backlit ferns, arching to reach sunlight, their existence depending on it. Light picks out their distinctive silhouette, revealing fractal patterns in the leaves, which is instantly appealing.
