Iain (M) Banks exhibition
I’ve had a niggling desire for a few weeks to re-engage with my Blipfoto posts after a veeerrrryyy long break from it. As this is the third day in a row of my ‘new BP era’, it’s going quite well! I had a fascinating lunchtime visit to the library at the University of Stirling today (I live in Stirling) to see a student-curated exhibition about the late, wonderful Scottish author Iain Banks (and his science fiction alter ego Iain M Banks), one of my favourite authors, particularly for his SF novels. There was a timeline of all of his works, annotated large copies of many of his novel covers, copies of many letters with publishers and fans, and examples of art inspired by his writing. Banks was a graduate of the university and used to lecture to the English students every year. I found out about the exhibition through a Facebook group dedicated to Iain M Banks. The exhibition ends in the next few days so I was very pleased to catch it(and I photographed most of it).
