Buffet

Django is now back to longer walks (with his normal collar) so I headed off along the old railway with him. When we reached the road in Roslin Glen, I saw that a Turfer had blocked the Rosslyn Chapel zone, so to kill time I took a route I'd never used to get to Rosslyn Castle. It followed the Esk around a big loop, and I caught up a couple with two Border Collies. While the dogs - all unneutered males - assessed Django, I chatted with the owners. They were sheep farmers, and the dogs were working dog, so there was plenty to talk about. From the castle, I walked up via the Chapel (see extra) to the village, where we took the bus home.

At home I'd meant to tidy my room and clean it, but I was distracted by playing with a tool that someone has written to visualise the progress of one of the solvers in HiGHS.

In the evening, we decided to go out for the "buffet" at our local Indian restaurant (The Gurkhas). I'd wondered how they could justify putting out a typical buffet for the number of people who'd want to eat out on a Sunday evening in Penicuik, and we duly found out. There were people at two other tables, but no sign of any food. The deal was that, for £10.99, we could have as much as we wanted of the starter - three each of onion bhaji and two chicken-based items - and, after a conversation about how spicy we liked our food, we were brought two chicken-based main dishes, rice, naans and chips. We then learned that we could ask for more of the same if we wanted. Needless to say, we struggled to get through what was brought! So, not a buffet by any means, but tasty and very good value!
