Figure in a landscape
A sketching the view while she waits for the rest of us to catch up. Difficult to capture such a magnificent panorama with a sketch, or indeed a photograph.
It was a relatively easy walk up a dirt track through the forest, up to the Mirador del Corbiu. G managed to get a hairline fracture in his pelvis tripping over a cobble in Huddersfield six weeks ago, so he’s having to be very careful. For the first (and probably last) time ever I made it up a hill faster than he did. 5 km, 164 m climbing, about 2 hours to get up and down! We spent a bit of time at the viewpoint chatting to people G and A had met previously; other than them we didn’t meet a soul, despite it being a Sunday and perfect walking weather.
We paused at the ski resort at Pleta del Prat for a beer, then home for a light lunch and a lazy afternoon. We had dinner in the on-site restaurant this evening, convivial as always. Portion sizes are calculated for serious walkers, so I’m feeling absolutely bloated now. Bona nit !
