Gulled
It's been a busy day, with our Rector's last service, the big girls stayed overnight, it was our church barbecue and my sister in law and nephew are coming to stay the night en route for the airport.
The service went well although we had a very long sermon! The BBQ took place with the eating happening indoors as the weather was not at its best.
It's almost 5 years to the day since we interviewed Stephen for the post although he didn't start till mid February 2020 (when I was in India) as his wife gave birth in December. Then it was lockdown!
It's been a turbulent few years and now we have to start the process all over again. There are some big vacancies in Edinburgh just now, St Columba by the Castle and St John's Princes Street to mention but two.
Katy came and picked up the girls about 4pm after work. She'd not got here till after 10 last night as she'd been called in and she'd a couple of phone calls overnight too. I cannot see how people are expected to function effectively working such hours.
I had a nap after the girls left then ran Colin into town for a concert at the Playhouse. I was glad to be home alone in the peace and quiet and celebrated by washing the kitchen floor. Clearly I don't get out much!
This young herring gull was in the carpark at Morrisons. He was strutting out very well, lord (or lady) of all he or she surveyed!
