Rhubarb
Some eaten at teatime with custard, the rest frozen for later.
Possibly the last of the rhubarb, although maybe just one more picking.
Today was a quiet day, did a bit of tree pruning as it was getting close to the overhead wires,
Yesterday was a nightmare, we went into Leeds on the bus, got off in Boar Lane and the city was heaving with people, shoppers and those young people who were just starting out on their evening revelries. It was so noisy music blaring out from everywhere and the traffic was almost at a standstill. Anyhow we made our way to the LGI it was a good mile and a half walk mostly uphill, Paula was struggling with her angina, had to use her spray a few times. When we got there she hadn't long to wait but when they did the CT Scan they put a canula in her arm and pumped a dye into her veins, which triggered her angina again, when she came out I honestly thought she was having a heart attack. She had her spray again which eased the pain and we sat for awhile, then I said no way are we trapesing back across to the city centre for the bus, so I rang for a taxi.
The taxi driver was a lovely man so chatty he told us how his mum had come over for a holiday from their village in Cashmere and she loved the English weather, no mosquitos, and his mum and dad kept 2 Buffalos, and grew sweet corn. He really cheered us up.
We were glad to get home. We went to bed early we were so tired. Never again will I go into the city around tea time on a Saturday. We are used to a quiet life these days.
