SWAROVSKI

The decorators returned today to crack on with the outside of the bungalow whilst the weather was at least reasonable.  They haven't got too much to do now but enough - it's second coatings and not doing anything in area that's going to cause problems with the rain, until it's fully dried and that has been a challenge - but they're so good they've managed.

So I decided on having a tidy up around the place - ie sorting out my drawers, chucking things away and putting some into charity shops.  I've done quite a lot but still  quite a bit to do, but at least it's a start.

I wonderred what I could blip today, then I saw my Swarovski ornanments.  I started collecting these way back in the early 1980s on one of our many visits to Austria, which I fell in love with.  We started off with just 5  animals.  They were quite new at that time and were not as expensive or colourful as they have now become.

Swarovski, are of course an Austria company.  The first six miniature animals were designed by Max Schreck and included a chick, duck, mouse, owl, rabbit, and sparrow. They were available individually or as a set called the "Mini Zoo" from 1981 to 1982.  I bought all six as the "Mini Zoo" because it was relatively inexpensive at that time. Now they're soooo pricey.

This is just a small selection of some of my favourites (I have 32 and stopped collecting some time ago).  The Oyster with Pearl was, of course, for our Pearl Wedding Anniversary and was a Swarovski Collectors Club Limited Edition.  They bring back so many happy memories.

That's all from me for today, do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
