Getting Ready
A day of some much-needed chilling out. Took an urban walk with E to explore a route to Chapel Allerton which maximised having grass under our feet. We were surprisingly successful. Leeds has a huge amount of green space, much of it hidden away from obvious sight. After a splendid lunch at the House of KoKo (the food and coffee at this little independent is plentiful and sensationally good), we felt the need to walk some more and found ourselves at Potternewton Park, the launching stage for the Leeds West Indian Carnival. I'm ashamed to have never seen this sight before and had no idea it was such a huge event. After soaking up the amazing atmosphere for a short while, with E and I both averse to large crowds, we exited stage left to return home by another not so green route.
It was cold today. We finished the day watching a film under a blanket. I'd not heard of her before a few days ago and now I'm a massive fan of Zoe Lister-Jones after seeing her in Slip and now How It Ends. Writer, director, actress, singer. What a talent.
