Another American staple
I know this probably looks like a really weird thing to blip, but I REALLY wanted to see an American school bus on our trip and seeing us we're here during school holidays, I figured that may not happen. So I was delighted when I spotted this on the highway today. Yay! It's got the school part covered as its probably doing a camp run or something, Kelly reckoned.
Today, Kelly very kindly drove me to see an old friend of mine from our Belgrade days, Ginny. Ginny and her husband were posted to Belgrade with the American Embassy for about the same time that we were there and she and I were part of the committee of the International Women's Association of Belgrade (IWAB). We had many lovely and memorable events and experiences being part of it and have maintained our friendship over the years. We hadn't seen each other in 18 years!!! It was so good to be able to catch up with her and see her on her own turf, so to speak, and what an amazing turf it is.
Then back to the gang, ie our kids and Kelly's husband for another all American experience ... a visit to Costco! The boys were wide eyed. I had been to one in Thessalonika, so knew what to expect but they were up and down the aisles, checking it out. I suppose we really should go to a Walmart as well?
I'm loving it here. Washington is a truly beautiful state, also called the Evergreen state.
