Waiting

The funeral today for a lovely young man Peter was attended by many people who not only knew him, but thought the world of him, in particular his wife (one of my #1 daughter’s very best friends) and P’s 3 young sons.  The sons wrote some heart wrenching thoughts about their Father and each son read their words to us.  The youngest J, couldn’t get further than the first word of his reading so elder brother A took over and spoke them beautifully. My grandson walked alongside the coffin with the family he has known since he was a very young boy.

Later over a cuppa and a catch up with friend K at a newly opened garden café in town we agreed that at times life could deal some hard blows to many but the ever exuberant Gemdog lifted our spirits and reminded us that perhaps a walk by the river would do us all good, and maybe someone could throw a stick, or two?  Here he is waiting for us to hurry up!
