Hither and Thither

This the recce group for one of the sections of September's Charity Walk in aid of Manorlands Hospice.  What good company they were!  We walked a familiar route around the locale, checking the wording of the route guide, clipping back some brambles and nettles and making sure the route was still open.  One section is now barred by an electric gate so we spoke with the stables owner who pointed out a somewhat overgrown footpath which Tony and I will go and clear before the event.

We paused under a large tree for flapjack when the rain arrived and paused again here at this wonderful wooden gate which says 'East and West' on one side and 'Hither and Thither' on the other.  It has been inscribed with the carpenter's name and date and 'Love to Go', and there is a beautifully carved acorn on the top.  We all agreed it is very special.

Walk completed and only minor corrections to be made, we retired to Yorkshire Treats for cuppas.  You may recognise another blipper on my blip!

The boyfriend of our daughter's PhD student is raising serious money for Alzheimer's Research by running from Lands End to John O Groats.  If this is something you may support, please see their Just Giving Page.
