No sign of autumn here!
Today was unexpectedly hot, my car registered 29C in the early afternoon. It felt like summer had returned today.
I returned to my weekly golf group lessons today, it was good to be back. At the driving range where we have our lessons we have Top Tracer installed which is an electronic recording system to record the stats of where and how you hit your ball. Today we worked on drivers, and our aim was to achieve a launch speed of between 14 and 20. It is all so technical today and I was thinking back to 30 years ago when I first attempted to play golf, I had no lessons, I never knew what I was doing, and had no knowledge of anything technical like launch speed or loft. No wonder I gave up playing after a short while. It was remarkable to see when you did achieve that launch speed how much further you could hit the ball! It was so hot in the golf bays today, we were all getting so sweaty as they are in the full sun (which is lovely in winter).
After golf I went to drop off my prints for the RAC photography competition, and then came home and sorted prints for our selection committee as our club has qualified to enter the PAGB print competition in October in Blackburn.
I took Xena for another walk and the woods were so hot we were seeking the coolness of the shady areas. The ground is so dry and there is absolutely no sign of any fungi yet, or autumn leaves starting to turn - I think these leaves are from last winter!
