Today it's quiet in the sky

Yesterday evening at around 9.30pm it was different and luckily I was travelling with a group who were able to witness the spectacle in the sky live. Like a firework trailing behind an aeroplane, the apparition made all its way from west to east. Too slow for a meteorite, but then what? We speculated whether it was space debris entering the earth's atmosphere. Shortly afterwards there were several pictures of it on the Internet and also confirmation that it was a disused Starling satellite that had burnt up.
