Garden bed extension

We started this bed last week and finished it today. Two years ago I designed and built a new bed for this customer. She was getting more work done as time and budget allowed. This year she contacted me to come and extend the bed we did 2 years ago, as she had an asphalt path removed. We also did 2 new beds on either side of her new front entryway.

I had planned to continue working on another job. removing some dead shrubs for a neighbor. We had started working on them one other day, then they found a bees nest and had to stop. The customer sprayed one area where she thought they were, but I think the whole bank is one big nest underground. They seemed to be in several areas, Apparently the bees do not like water, so I am going to tell her to try putting a sprinkler on the area.

Since we couldn't do the job I had scheduled, I brought the crew down to my place and we spent a couple of hours getting my own plants into the ground. There is lots of space in the driveway now, ready for another plant buying trip on the weekend.

Cooler weather today, much nicer for working. Tomorrow is sunny and dry, We have 10 yards of mulch to spread, when that is done the kids get to have a pool party. Two have already left to go back to school and 2 more are finished this week.
