Powys Castle
WEDNESDAY
A three-and-a-half-hour round trip across the country via the Horseshoe Pass and Llangollen to NT Powys Castle—a furnished medieval castle built by Welsh princes, featuring a Grade I listed garden with 17th-century Italianate terraces adorned with gigantic clipped yews and an elegant Edwardian Formal Garden.
The day also included a couple of stops at the Courtyard Café for lunch and coffee before heading home.
