Shilstone House
Our lunch destination. Jan aka Jorgiesmum, & myself first dined at Shilstone for my birthday last year. Lunch was memorable. This year's birthday lunch was with Jan, Nicky, & Carolyn. Another memorable meal. Fab menu, delicious again, & the desserts... Wow! We did'nt eat in the house which is privately owned and used as a wedding/conference venue, we ate in the cafe, which was busy, we had to wait a little while for lunch to appear but it was certainly worth the wait, & very reasonably priced. I had the oven roasted cauli with a roasted sweet pepper sauce, salad leaves & flatbread. Followed by a black cherry frangipane tart. Ended with an Americana. £25.
We then walked lunch off with a wander through the gardens which are in the early stages of development.
