We are in the New Forest.  It's John's birthday tomorrow and he is volunteering at a Triathalon on Sunday so we decided to make a weekend of it.   Not that we can really afford it after this summer holidays, but it was booked months ago.  We are staying at a B&B and the people who live here run an animal experience company, so this afternoon we met lots of their animals, turkeys, owls, ponies, sheep, millipedes, lizards and snakes.   We then walked to the pub and had a nice dinner.

The photo is a friendly wild pony that came over to see us earlier in the afternoon.  On the way home from the pub I was taking a photo of some different wild ponies and one of them, which looked very young came towards us and nipped me and B, lucking it only got our jumpers!  We weren't trying to touch it and we were a few metres away, it just came towards us and nipped at us!  I've never known New Forest ponies to be aggressive.  I wonder if it's because people have been feeding it.  We weren't feeding it as I know its not allowed, but perhaps it was looking for food.  It was a bit intimidating so we got away from it quickly!
