Birthdays

Erica is 6 today.  I can remember when Rob, the loco driver was 21-ish .... but only just!  Much cake was enjoyed both here at Wharf and up at Abergynolwyn where the assistant station master was also celebrating his birthday.   I dropped in after the Tuesday Singers had done their turn at an old folks afternoon tea in town today.   Celebrating with Erica has become a regular feature of the summer, here's two years ago when the wind blew out the candles ;-)

Singing was fun as always although actually, we're all old enough to qualify to attend these senior events!   Earlier I had done a good bit of work with the bulb collection while after seeing Erica, I took Meg out for a walk.  The Cynfal circuit took twice as long as it usually does because the blackberries are good in the lanes, I returned with two litres of them.  They're on the hob now and will be strained in muslin overnight.  The plan is to repeat the walk in the morning so that I can make up a decent batch of bramble jelly tomorrow evening :-)

A couple of hours at the community session at pottery, glazing, rounded off a very well spent day off.
