Wood avens (Geum urbanum)

Since having a young puppy [now 2] I have noticed an increase in Wood avens.Whilst for many reasons [in the right place] this is a good thing, here in Pembrokeshire, on poor soils it is not. Why?
Over the last year I have noticed an enormous population spike in Wood avens, throughout the three gardens. Although like I  say, not a terrible thing, as it is a pretty  yellow flower. However, it is successful on poor soils because it  grows very deep, making it very difficult to simply pull out. A fork is needed. Its population boom however, has been made possible by our faithful canine friend. How?
Well, To cut a long story short, seed pods. Wood avens seedpods are very similar to Cleavers, Goose grass, sticky buds, however you. know them. The origin of velcro. Wood avens are similar. Carried by our dog, picked up on her rough coat as she scurries through the under growth. Depositing seeds here and there  each time a scratch or clean is merited. The long summer days, longer naps in sun or shade, making dispersal more frequent.
The image is a seed pod literally dripping with rain and in full sun. it needed polarising. If you are viewing this on a phone or tablet, use the two finger zoom. As this inadequate program has no zoom
