Nurse K’s new toys!

Another member of the Virtual Ward visited this morning, bearing a Doccla box of new toys for me. I have to use them to take Dad’s obs three times a day, each time recording the four different readings on the supplied tablet. The results are then transmitted to a clinician back at base who checks that all is ok, and if not, deals with any concerns. The Virtual Ward system is great for the patient, allowing them to rest and recuperate in peaceful and familiar surroundings. But it’s not so great for the already overburdened nurse!

Daycare was obviously cancelled again today, along with my plans for the day, and many phone calls were made cancelling and rebooking various appointments for the next couple of months. A sunny day of 21 degrees, managed to squeeze in half an hour reading in the garden.
