Mushroom hitch hiker
Here's a little mushroom growing in a streotocarpus pot. The plant was given to Steve by the artist Jenny Stringer when we visited her family home, Whittington Court, on 17th August.
I had decided to work for a couple of hours today, and that turned into four. A trip to a breakfast cafe in Stonehouse with a client was followed by a long phone call at the town surgery, and then a visit to the Trinity Rooms and food bank with another client.
Walked home, threw a load of washing in the machine, went outside to soak up the sun and work on a project (covering a container to make it into a festival seat) with limited success. Got all excited about a music festival in Whitby in October. Can I do it? Maybe ...
V turned up, and we walked down to the edge of town to a cafe run by a Greek man, who is now opening a Greek restaurant on Friday and Saturday evenings. It's a one-man operation, and very good! I had moussaka.and a glass of retsina , and V had dolmades and a Tango. We must have sat there for several.hours, talking. Eventually we walked home, and V took off for Stonehouse, where she lives.
Tomorrow is Cinema day, and V and I are going to the cinema, as all tickets are 4 pounds. There's a party in the evening too, so I'm going to have a relaxed morning.
