Ripe rowans
The people who own the mill and the mill pond continue to work on their land. A big wildflower meadow has lots of clover; this section of wooded cover has several neat birdboxes.
Walked into the Forglen Estate woods; took a different branch on their new paths and got more than half way to Turriff before turning back into the estate. Found an old track, very deeply trenched, that hadn't had any vehicle traffic for several years. Avoided the boggy bits and the gorse to get back to wider road near the mausoleum. There are brambles newly ripe occasionally in hedges; I'd brought a little plastic bag and found a couple of handfuls.
Cleared up by the old stone wall that is the house boundary with the road and did a little weeding and planting later on. Windy in the morning, sun came out and warmed things up nicely in the afternoon.
