Gateway

We went for a lovely long walk through the woods this morning.  It's about a month since we went that way and all the fields have been harvested and some have been cultivated as well.

We have about a dozen apple trees in the garden but none of them has any fruit this year.  A friend in the village has one Bramley apple tree in her garden which is absolutely laden with fruit.  She has made all the apple pies, crumbles and sauces that will fit in her freezer, so has brought me a huge bag of spare apples.  I feel a lot of delicious baking coming on :-)
