It's a beautiful
start to the last day of the
month - August is done!

I was up at 6 and out the door at 6:30. The sun had just peeked over the ridge with sunlight hitting my house.

I crossed the bridge and drove on to the east end of the city to start the climb up Rose Hill Road.

I stopped at the first rise to get a panorama of the downtown in sunshine. My next stop up further gave me a panorama of my mountains looking north across the valley.

I was soon in ranchland with cattle grazing the fields that had recently been hayed. There were a lot of cattle to be seen. It is an area of open range so they can wander outside of fencing. I met two black angus heifers on the road. They stood and stared at me. I inched closer and they finally decided they would move off the roadway.

The hillsides and fields are all bleached blonde by the heat of the summer. I love the views across the landscape.

Back on the Merritt Highway, I caught a last view of my mountains from the crest of the hill.

I picked up breakfast for my daughter and myself on the way home. We can expect a rather hot day so I will be hiding for the afternoon once again.
