Lovely views along
the river on a lazy
September morning

The sun was already shining on my house when I left at 10 to 7. I had decided that a quick trip to Mission Flats would be the order today.

I always go in hopes of eagles, but today I made do with deer. I saw the roadside bushes stir and there were two does having breakfast in the tall grass. They seemed not to notice me at all. I stopped short and got a shot of one through my front window. Then, I pulled up along side one with my window down. She gave me the 'deer in headlights' look while I snapped her portrait. When I said aloud "Beautiful girl", she bounded off into the brush towards the river.

I paused for several views along the river. The morning light is gorgeous today.

At the end of the road I stopped to check on the osprey. Two adults were visible. I don't know if they've produced offspring but they've kept close to that nest all summer.

I was home with breakfast before 8. I feel the need to go in search of a better pair of reading glasses. Today is as good as any. Perhaps a second breakfast may serve me as well.
