Lunchtime

So it was off home today, after an enjoyable week. We were in no hurry to set off, as we needed to ensure we arrived in Bossost no earlier than lunchtime. Job done, lunch of pintxos and an excellent shared tarte fine aux pommes with caramel ice cream at Urtau (on the right of this photo). Followed by an expensive stop at the big supermarket on the border. Last time we passed this way, a year ago, 5-litre cans of extra virgin olive oil were 45 euros -- already ouch. Now they are 60 ... it will keep us going for another year though. And I economised on bumper size bottles of laundry detergent, under 4 euros.

Dull drive on the autoroute afterwards, not too busy in our direction although there was very heavy homebound traffic heading inland from the coast on the last day of August. We got home not long after five. It still doesn't feel right for the house to be empty when we return, no plaintive meowing of "Thank God you're back!". I distracted myself with a cup of tea and unpacking. Hot and steamy here. Aircon on, and dinner was jamón and wine.

I've added yet another photo of the Port de Bonaigua in extras, taken on the move from the car window as we came down. Book launch is backblipped.
