Apple cake……September 1st.

…..made by hubby from some of the apples off our new tree which produces cooking apples. The few in the photo I picked this morning. There is now just one left to pick when it is ready
We never expected it to crop this year having planted it in spring last year.
We went to church this morning.
Now this afternoon we are going round to have a cuppa with the family.
I have the nesting box with me which the Great tits used this year. I can open it up to show the grandchildren the nest which was built, and carefully take it out to put on some newspaper so they can see the way it was made should any of them be interested. (Then wash my hands afterwards!)
I clean out nesting boxes in the Autumn, ready for new occupants in the Spring.
Almost time to go.
We are forecast thunderstorms tomorrow. Today is very misty and humid. The air is fairly still.
