The first day of Autumn

Not that it feels like it yet! Far too warm, although the humidity and lack of a breeze probably add to that.

We had our usual Sunday afternoon around Upton House where there are signs of approaching Autumn, some plants going over, others with their berries, but there were plenty of butterflies about and it was really quite hot in the sunshine.

My blip is the view up the steps past the ends of the terraced gardens.

Back to school next week and some normality may return?
We did have an idea of sneaking off to Holland, but discovered my passport expired on the 10th of last month - so we're planning a trip to Northumberland.
If anyone has plans involving Bamburgh Castle, it will probably rain once we set off :-)
