Divided Opinion?
Good Vs. Bad?
Find a mad marauding Mollusc thusly engaged and the immediate reaction it BAD!!!
However the R. H. S. thinks somewhat differently. The intro. to their page says:-"Slugs and snails are common garden animals, and they are well suited to the damp, mild climate of the UK. A few species feed on garden plants, but most prefer to eat rotting material and could be considered a gardener’s friend." and little lower they tell us:-
"1. Slugs and snails are beneficial in gardens as many slugs and snails are recyclers, feeding on dead leaves, dung and even dead animals
2. They are also an important food source for other garden wildlife, including, birds, beetles and reptiles
3.Slugs and snails are gastropods; a type of mollusc.
This one certainly appears to favour point 1. as it's concentrating on the back, less healthy, more decayed section of the Cluster.
AND - You'll never convince me that it has enough nouse to lurk at the back of the cluster to avoid me spotting it from the Grass (Lawn).
ALL that remains to do now? Learn to differentiate the Good from the BAD & the Ugly?
