Fife's Only Windmill
This windmill was used in the 19th century to pump seawater into pans where local coal was used to evaporate the water. This industry took place at many sites around the Firth of Forth because of the local presence of coal. Today we are reminded of this industry in street names, village names and even small towns such as Prestonpans to the east of Edinburgh.
The original was rather dull as the weather hasn't been great. It was amazing to discover this transformation when overlaid with an image of a sheet of weathered stained plywood that had been used to cover an old shed window. Eureka! My blip for today.
