What a wonderful world

We went out for an evening ride and walk.A stunning evening with fabulous light after a blustery day.
We wondered round the ruins of Kirk Michael. This old ruin lies on the shores of the RSPB nature reserve of Udale Bay to the North east of the Black Isle. The original church was medieval and served the parish of Kirkmichael. Following the Reformation the building was adapted for use as a protestant kirk. Even though a new church was built in Resolis it continued to be used until 1769.It has decayed a lot over the last few years especially after heavy snow in 2012 with the roof falling in and a trust has been set up to raise money to save it. It is a scheduled ancient building. You can see it at the right hand side of the picture.

We continued down the road and discovered a viewing screen over looking the salt marshes and bay. Fabulous view in the sunlight with plenty of birds to watch including large flocks of Canada geese, oyster catchers, swallows, heron, hooded crows to name a few.

Ended up eating pizza and drinking tea in front of Cromarty Harbour watching the fishing boats leaving for a night fishing.
