I don't know much about Batman other than my children running around in the 70s with their coats over their heads singing this theme tune. It's the first time I've heard the real thing.

The Batman hoverfly gets its name from the resemblance of markings on its thorax to the Batman logo. I've noticed in previous years how much these insects enjoy the ivy flowers.
