Life's Little Moments

Just Another...

Ruby throated hummingbird, conserving energy.  Unusual to see hummingbirds sit and sip like this one is doing.  Clever little thing.  I don't know the scientific name of the plant, but every spring I buy a few at the local garden center and put them in pots on my patio and deck.  You can see why I like them so much!

Today my Hubs and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary.  In some ways it feels like just the blink of an eye since we happily trotted down the aisle after being pronounced Mr and Mrs.  In other ways, it feels like we've been through several lifetimes.  We got married rather later in life than most, me at 44 and he at 38, and first marriage for both of us.  I have always maintained that I never married before because my heart knew on some level that I needed to wait for "the one".  Which he is.  We are very different in some ways but those very differences make us work perfectly together.  And on the things that truly matter, we are in lock-step.  He's the love of my life and he allows me to be the best version of myself, even if I stumble occasionally along the way.

We went out for a casual lunch today just to get out for a bit.  Dinner will be here at home.  Because today is a holiday, even if we wanted to go out for dinner, we'd be hard pressed to find any restaurants open.  Which is just fine.

Off to the ortho tomorrow morning where I hope we will start to get to the bottom of the ongoing pain he's experiencing.  I will be there too, of course, a second set of ears.

Dark with chili today.
