Apples and Rain

Andy was playing golf today so Merlin and I had a nice long walk this morning. The overnight rain had stopped and although humid, there was a breeze that kept the air feeling refreshed.

Then I spent my day cooking - trying to use as much from the allotment as possible. A green soup was made using leeks, spinach and courgettes, with a few peas added from the freezer. Bread rolls were baked, along with a courgette cake. Then a pesto using basil from the garden. I grow British Basil which has thrived in our garden the last two summers.

The rain had returned by late afternoon so Merlin and I took a ramble around the village before dinner.

This blip shows the Christmas Pearman apple tree in the garden. It has lots of apples this year.
