Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Popped up to the surgery to ask about what vaccinations are needed for the upcoming holiday ( Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Bangkok). No - doctors don't do such things now. So just as well I've booked an appointment with the Travel Clinic at the hospital.

I asked about my recent blood tests, but because I hadn't heard anything, I knew all was calm on the Western Front. Got some pills to try to help with my Very Sore Arm, which can be excruciating very sore at night. But the doctor assures me it will get better.

I was too early, always reckoning on a 20 minute walk, but that's when I've got a sore back or a new knee. So I went across to the graveyard. It was just lovely in the morning sunshine. On the way home, I noted the sunshine on the outdoor tables at the cafe, and so I collected Archie and came back to sit in the sun to wait for JR coming from the gym. We met Dougal and his mum on their way home, but they came with us for a coffee. So that was a nice catch up.

Then Archie and I went for a walk. I was on a mission, as Christine told us about a blue plaque in the neighbourhood, which I've never noticed before, so I have now. (Extra)

We were sitting on a park bench, and a whole troop of wee kids came by. They stopped to admire Archie. The teacher asked his name, and one of the wee boys, inevitably, was called Archie, so that caused much excitement.

JR took Archie out in the afternoon. Then I made tea, which, when I do it, involves the air fryer, and chips! So, a complex operation of Archie having his tea first, undisturbed. He's still not keen to come in to the kitchen in the evenings. He's OK in the mornings (I have not yet made chips for breakfast, but I don't rule it out).

So - a complicated rigmarole, with Archie, having had his tea on his own (he’s too suspicious if we’re there), then sitting onJR's lap, with the tv on and two closed doors between him and the beeping.
