Caterpillar
We got up this morning and drove from our pet-friendly hotel to Canobie Lake Park, which is only 5 minutes from the hotel. Canobie Lake Park opened in 1902 and is a wonderful little amusement park with 3 roller coasters.
The park is allows dogs, so Jill and I took turns riding things. Yankee Cannonball is the best coaster there (there are 3). It's pictured in extras. I wanted to highlight Caterpillar, which opened in 1963. It's an old model and the only one still operating in the United States. Riders sit 2 per car facing forward as it rotates around and moves up and down, similar to a Musik Express. The big difference is the Caterpillar has a canopy that comes down and covers riders for the majority of the ride. It looks like a caterpillar, hence the name. It was so much fun!
Yankee Cannonball is the standout ride. It's got great airtime and is smooth. The park also has a looping roller coaster, Untamed, also in extras.
We had a wonderful time at this charming park. The dogs also had a great time (also in extras). It was a long drive, but this was worth it.
