Belton
We went to Belton for the morning - and ended up staying all day!
Started at the adventure play park, a bonus of our extra school holiday is that the place was deserted! The deer were out in force and we watched a stag amble along in front of the miniature train, before leaping over a fence to continue wandering.
We planned to go to the maze, as we had never been, amd decided to go via a trip around the jouse, which we very rarely do - we had a great time choosing our favourite bedrooms and in the library, they had some settees and chairs where you could read books. The boys and I cuddles up on a sofa for about 45 minutes reading a Sam Sedgman book about great train journeys.
Given it was half one by this point, we needed lunch, so off to the cafe which has an indoor play area. We left there at 3.30 after befriending another family, with the youngest really bonding with another boy, which was lovely as he doesn't make friends easily.
So, eventually, we.made it to the maze! Home in time to cook dinner.
Great day all round, especially for the youngest.
