Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

A very hungry caterpillar

(and a Bonnie baby!)
The big news from yesterday is that Eilidh has been elected Raeburn House Captain. There is a P7 boy and girl for each of the four houses, chosen framing the 3 P7 classes - although some also entered as non binary. It wasn't being announced publicly until today at morning assembly though which is why we couldn't tell anyone.
She had to give a speech to the quarter of the school (P3-P7), who are in her house, there was then a vote. She found it tough as she was the first to speak and says she got very nervous but then picked herself up. Today she was presented with the House Captain's badge. She's very pleased - as are we proud grandparents.
Today Ali and the girls came over after lunch. Josie doesn't go to nursery on Monday or Friday so they often come over then as their dad is working at home.
Poor Josie is under the weather, hopefully just a cold but she's got a high temperature and was rather miserable. She still managed to tell me that she really liked the shoes I had bought her and that I was very kind to have given them to her. She's 2, going on 52 I think! Actually, as she's told me, she's going to be three in two weeks and is very excited about it!
Bonnie was full of the joys too. She now has her first two teeth through, so is somewhat less drooly than she was. She's at the precrawling face plant stage which is hilarious. She can roll over from front to back and back to front and spends a lot of time going round in circles on her tummy as she reaches out for things. She's also started making different sounds to communicate. Babies are such fun to watch.
Colin and I went out to Karen's Unicorn again this evening. We have been very lucky and been able to get a table whenever we phone up. Quite remarkable as they are always very busy. Yet again we were struck by how good the staff are.
Watched another episode of Unforgotten when we got home. Thoroughly enjoying it, I don't think we've seen series 1 before.
