Life's Little Moments

Cape May Warbler

This was a very nice find in the garden this evening.  Cape May Warblers are only here during spring and fall migration so it's not a species I'm guaranteed of seeing every year, much less in the garden.  This was one of two, probably hatch-year birds who were foraging on the cherry and pine trees near the deck.  When I spotted this one, Hubs and I were sitting outside and my camera was on his chair so I told him to very slowly hand it to me.  He's well trained when it comes to stealth moves in the garden, so the bird stayed put while the camera slowly made its way into my hands.  Several clicks later...happy photographer.

A full day for me.  I had a "routine" visit with my radiology oncologist and have now graduated to once a year with her.  I will still see the medical oncologist twice a year and will continue that until I hit 5 years.  It felt very momentous to me to drop to once a year with Dr. Lo, though - very happy!

I went to get a pedicure, something I haven't done in over a year.  But I wanted to treat myself and it was worth the $$.  Plus my toes now look great.

Last stop of the day was to drop off a poster I had made of 15 pictures of kittens (and one senior cat) for the rescue group.  The poster is 24"x36" and they were thrilled with it.  She had a frame so we put it in the frame and they will use it at various fund raising events.  I'm so pleased with the way it came out.

Jax is fully back to normal, stealing cat beds and shoes and random pieces of paper.  Not a day goes by that he doesn't make me laugh.

Off to Pennsylvania tomorrow.
