An amazing end of the day. After the signing of papers and short stays at home trying to organize some peace for Don and Maggie I had to drive quickly over to our old house to open everything for the carpet cleaners. 430 $ later I noticed that the house cleaner did not do a good job in the garage- so I started frantically with a wet washcloth to get rid of the worse spots- to no avail, I will have to return tomorrow with a vacuum cleaner.
Then a quick visit in the walk in clinic and a visit with Maggie at the vets clinic. After that I needed to pick up the medication at Safeway pharmacy so I could also do the necessary shopping. While standing in line at Starbucks, a young guy turned around and asked me what I wanted. He invited me to a coffee and a croissant at a moment when I really needed it. I think that that was the first time in my life that this happened: I had to reach 77 years before being treated by a stranger. He didn’t stay for a talk after picking up his own coffee.
A little lady admired the bunch of flowers in my cart. The ones in the picture. I told her that they were meant to help us celebrate our new house and the end of the move.
She gave me a big smile and congratulated me.
When it was my turn at the register, the cashier told me that the lady had already paid for my flowers; what a very unexpected and generous gift…
