Chinese Chippendale Display Cabinet
Another period of rechecking the Hill of Tarvit Guide Information.
Today’s entry shows a detail of the Mahogany double breakfront display cabinet of Chinese Chippendale style with pagoda shaped top above blind fretwork carved frieze.
It is early 20th century and was bought by Frederick and Beatrice Sharp for Hill of Tarvit from Thomas Justice of Dundee. I suspect that it may well have been manufactured by them.
It is a major feature in the first floor gallery corridor and the contents are much admired by our visitors who have an interest in Chinese ceramics and porcelain.
