Look Out

I have spent the day clearing the kitchen, utility, and “west wing south” (more of a corner really) ready for Monday. The kitchen holds a lot of memories so it’s not the easiest process, but it is looking tired. It’s the right thing to do.

Nothing that I wanted to blip in the kitchen, so I turned to these objects.

The CD is my latest acquisition, and it’s a result of my recent visit to a village on the edge of Dartmoor. My hosts kindly let me have the studio, a fab space with a fab sound system, which they said I could use. On the turntable was an LP, this early Joni Mitchell album, which I played a couple of times. I’ve other albums of hers but not this one. 56 years on from its release it still sounds remarkably fresh.

The notebook was bought for me by niece R. She knows that since March 2020 I’ve written a daily diary of sorts, this makes a change from my usual black moleskine notebook. I started this one late April, it’ll soon be time to get another moleskine.

And the pen was J’s, I bought it for her as a present and she was very attached to it. It’s my pen of choice for my daily update.
