Customer Is Wrong

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Youngest Mini Princess and I went to Dunelm today right before closing and there was a man next to us at the checkout who was returning curtains which had been stuffed back into the packaging like rags. The very polite assistant explained that whilst she would issue a refund on this occasion, the store policy is that goods have to be returned in a resellable condition.

Not unreasonable.

Unless you were this man.

“Is that a new policy?” He asked indignantly.

“No, that’s always been the case,” she explained patiently.

“Well if that’s the case, we will no longer be shopping in Dunelm,” he informed her rudely and loudly.

“I understand.”

“We HAD to take them out of the packaging or how else would we have known they were too short?”

If only there was some sort of clever device available to check the length of the window. Maybe like a tape with lines at uniform intervals that rolled up.

This is why I have discounted Dunelm as a career option. There’s NO WAY I could deal with tw@ts like that without explaining that they should just glue newspaper to the effin windows as they are clearly too stupid to have curtains.
