Zwieselstein cow drive

At the end of summer farmers in South Tyrol move their cattle, sheep and goats down from the alpine  pastures to the valleys where they will spend the winter. 

Luckily for us, today is the traditional cattle drive in Zwieselstein with the most beautiful cows lavishly decorated with bells, flowers and garlands. There is music, dancing, plenty of local wares, food and beer. The atmosphere is joyous and the locals are in traditional Tyrolean dress. This cow in the main was magnificent and definitely worthy of a crown.
