Shugs

One of those Sundays

A lazy start to the day watching the paralympic marathon races, such inspiring people.

We then headed out to the forest only to turn a corner into mayhem.  A police roadblock causing a huge traffic jam with four lanes pushed into one.  Needless to say there was nothing we could do but sit it out.

The female officer who came to our car was clearly in a fighting mood and asked if I was angry when she took my licence to check for outstanding fines and then repeated the same on her return.

I managed to keep my cool, just looked at her and thanked her for my licence before driving off.  I am sure that annoyed her more than any other response.

We had intended trying out a different restaurant but it was positively hoaching so we went to another new spot, absolutely no atmosphere so we had a drink and left heading for our old faithful Doppio's.

A lovely seat in dappled sunshine but no food arrived.  The manager then appeared to say the ticketing machine had run out of paper and our order hadn't made the kitchen.  As Arnie had ordered a pilaf it would be another 20 minutes, so we waited.

Eventually our food arrived but our replacement drinks took another 20 minutes.  Not up to Doppio standards for sure, even paying our bill took way longer than normal.

It was good to get home and a seat in the garden followed by a catch up with Di who has had extensive surgery on her ankle. Fortunately she was in good spirits so we had a good chuckle together as she described getting used to her knee scooter.

Just one of those days I guess.
