A Picture Of Concentration

After our visitors enjoyed a morning of retail therapy at Clark’s Village, Kate and Sophie called in to see them and joined us for lunch.

Sophie has recently become interested in chess, largely thanks to a recent episode of the children’s cartoon Bluey, and is joining a new chess club at school this year.

When we told her that Tess had unearthed her old chess set she was keen to learn how to play so I dusted off my decidedly cobwebby knowledge of the game and here we are, giving it a try. 

We played for an hour without getting anywhere near a conclusion but she was delighted to have captured more of my pieces than I had hers.
